Summer Food Bags
In the summer of 2023, Union Gospel Mission partnered with the Project Joy organization to tackle childhood summer hunger.
Project Joy summer food bags are filled with easy-to-open, easy-to-prepare items. These bags are then delivered to local youth organizations to be distributed directly to children in need of weekend food assistance. The program runs for 12 weeks throughout the summer.
“We realized that there was a gap in the Northland for kids to access free meals during weekends when youth programs are closed. We knew the Mission had the capacity to assemble and distribute food bags to kids, but we needed the funds to kick start this initiative. We approached Project Joy and, without hesitation, they provided us with a generous donation to get our program started.”

Support Our Mission
We are driven by a belief that everyone deserves food, shelter, and hope. We know that these fundamental supports give our guests the strength and belief needed to move toward a better tomorrow. We will not rest until every guest is rested, restored, and ready to realize their goals. If you share our belief and want to support our mission, please consider volunteering or making a donation to the Union Gospel Mission.
