New Home. Same Hope.

In partnership with the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Duluth, Union Gospel Mission is in the process of relocating directly across from the St. Louis County Government Services Center to create a more coordinated, low-barrier response to homelessness and poverty in the Northland.

The future Mission Engagement Center will serve as the front door for individuals experiencing crisis — offering immediate basic needs support, connections to healthcare and behavioral health services, housing navigation, recovery resources, and pathways toward long-term stability.

The future Mission Engagement Center will offer a safe, welcoming environment for our neighbors in need. It will include:

  • 24/7 drop-in space (with overnight mat sleeping)
  • Outdoor guest gathering space
  • Expanded meal services and coordinated community food access
  • An integrated food shelf
  • Showers, laundry, hygiene support, and clothing resources
  • On-site healthcare, behavioral health, and addiction support services
  • Housing navigation and coordinated outreach services designed for safety and dignity
  • Classrooms and meeting spaces for recovery support, life skills, employment readiness, and community programming

The development will also include Mission Heights Housing — 40 units of permanent supportive housing located directly above the Engagement Center — creating a direct pathway from crisis stabilization to long-term housing.
