About the Mission
On November 1, 1922, nearly two dozen churches came together around a simple idea: no one in our community should go hungry, sleep outside, or feel forgotten. From that shared commitment, the Union Gospel Mission was born.
More than 100 years later, that commitment still drives us — even as the needs, challenges, and solutions have evolved.
Today, we work alongside partners across the Northland to provide food, shelter, and support to neighbors experiencing homelessness and hardship. We believe real progress happens through collaboration. We step into gaps, strengthen systems, and focus on practical solutions that restore stability and dignity.
Every meal served, every bed offered, and every conversation held is rooted in respect. Because while shelter meets a need and food nourishes the body, hope is what helps someone move forward.
And hope changes everything.

Support Our Mission
We are driven by a belief that everyone deserves food, shelter, and hope. We know that these fundamental supports give our guests the strength and belief needed to move toward a better tomorrow. We will not rest until every guest is rested, restored, and ready to realize their goals. If you share our belief and want to support our mission, please consider volunteering or making a donation to the Union Gospel Mission.
Mission Partners
We build partnerships and community relationships because we know we are stronger together. And we’d love for your organization to join our Mission.
